2020 and 2021 were two years of reacting. Reacting to unexpected changes, different ways of working and interacting. Workloads were high, tolerance levels have been stretched thin and teams were starting to notice increases in conflict and lower morale. The assumption is that 2022 will be different; will be better. Without a deliberate focus on ‘setting the tone’ for 2022 though, the risk is that individuals and teams carry the challenges of 2021 over with them. What is needed is a reset. A way of letting go of the dysfunctional team habits that keep occurring and re-energising with what’s possible in 2022.
